Humor: Vital To A Lasting Marriage(Bet These Will Make You Laugh)

We’ve all heard it said that laughter is the best medicine, but very few heed this advice. As a matter of fact, children laugh about 400 times a day, while adults only laugh about 15 times a day. This is unfortunate because research studies have proven how laughter not only has health benefits but can have a positive impact on our marriage as well. Did you know that laughter lowers your blood pressure, decreases heart strain, boosts your immune system, protects the stomach from forming ulcers, helps tone facial muscles and nourishes the skin? Laughter is also an aerobic exercise-1 minute of laughter is equivalent to 10 minutes on the rowing machine. Best of all, laughing for 15 seconds a day adds two days to a person’s overall lifespan.

Laughter also has a positive impact on a marriage. People look younger and more approachable when they laugh. By the same token, their laughter can be infectious and generate more laughter. Laughter eases the mundane times of marriage and can break you out of conflict. Fun times together create a relaxed kind of intimacy that strengthens the bond between a husband and a wife.

One of the best ways to add humor and laughter into your marriage is by sharing funny stories about married life or by telling each other a good marriage joke. Make it a habit of having at least 1 minute of laughter between you and your spouse every day. Not only will you reap the health and relational benefits, but you will also add about 80 years to your life!!!
